Our founders, Vivian and Laurent met during a social entrepreneur program. They share the urgency to tackle single-use packaging in our daily life. Food packaging came naturally to mind, driven by the sheer amount of single-use waste that our convenience culture is propelling. So we thought, why not make sustainability convenient as well? Hence, the idea for Shakeout was born – to make the zero-waste takeout experience possible. We believe that reusing is the best way to reduce waste in the long run. As consumers ourselves, we know that we are not perfect but we are trying our best. With Shakeout, we want to show that small daily actions at the individual level can have a huge impact for all.
